Hello, it's been a while since I've thought about adding content to this blog. Within that time, I made a transition in my career from Senior Software Engineer to Engineering Manager. This means the title of this blog is no longer accurate.

I initially started this site to write about experiences of navigating growth in my career. More specifically, to share about reconciling what is a considered a traditionally "masculine" field with some of my more natural "feminine" inclinations. I have several posts in draft mode that I might share some day. I was in a very different headspace 2 years ago. I can tell that earlier efforts were hampered by perfectionism. I only wanted to share what was new and novel, writing in a voice that wanted to impress.

Now I want to write because I want to document my journey of growing as a manager. It's been about 6 months and I've learnt so much already. Part of me feels regret at not starting sooner, the feeling of growth is always most apparent at the beginning. I no longer feel the need to publish only if I have some new or novel idea. In fact, the path in through management is one that many people have walked before me. I want to share my own stories (something AI can't take from me 😂), and to use this space as a way to organise my thoughts.

See you soon!
